John and Wendy, First of all, happy holidays. My name is Lieutenant Allende, U.S. Army. I read your article on CNN.com and I really appreciate from the bottom of my heart all what you are doing for our Troops (Marines, Army, Air Force, Navy and Coast Guard). The funny thing is that I was in charge of the Joint Military Mail Terminal in Baghdad from 2008 to 2009 ,and I saw quite a lot of your Care Packages passing through our hands, lol. As a Soldier, it feels really nice to have someone thinking about us and to receive this packages from our people here in the U.S.You have no idea how much we are really grateful for taking this initiative to us.God bless you both and your family and once again, thanks for what you doing from the bottom of my heart.
Greetings from Albany NY, Just saw the CNN clip about what you and your group are doing for the troops. Thank you from a Marine! We have two sons in our nations service, our youngest is on his 2nd tour in Iraq. He won’t be home again until Nov. 2011.We started a similar organization here in NY called Operation Soaring Eagle based upon the same issues. Over the last five years, my wife and I have sent over 10,000 lbs worth of goodies and snack and a pool table to Airmen, Soldiers, Marines, Sailors and Guardians. It is so hard to say no when there is so much need.We just finished upon our Christmas campaign by sending 1900 cards to a flotilia of Marines and Sailors off the coast of Africia. They also got just under 500 full stuffed stockings and nearly 75 lbs of home made cookies. We are just a mom and dad doing what we can and we just wanted to say thank you for all that you are doing now and in the future.Charlie “Sgt Dan” DankowskiUSMC
Good morning, My name is SSG Matthew Eggert, and I'm writing from over here in Afghanistan.I was reading the news, I like to do that first thing in the morning, makes me feel like I'm not losing touch with back home, and I saw your story on CNN.I am blessed by a large number of family and friends, and many of them were able to send me packages and Christmas cards this year.Unfortunately not all of my battle buddies were so fortunate and it made me sad to see them not get anything day after day.
I shared with my troop some things from my packages, and my mom had people at work write all of us a Christmas card.I know that made a lot of Soldiers day around here when we got them. The beef jerky helped too I think lol.
Anyway, I just wanted to say I thought it was really awesome what you guys do.It gets really easy to feel disconnected out here, and I know personally getting things helps. It makes you feel loved, and it makes you feel appreciated.Like what we're doing out here matters to those back home.
So really I wrote all this just to say thank you, God bless, and have a happy new year! My personal belief is God rewards those who look after his children, and I hope your kindness if visited back on you 10 fold. Matthew A. Eggert SSG, USA "Never kiss a girl whose brothers have knife scars."

I just want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you. My husband who is deployed in Iraq just received a wonderful surprise in the mail yesterday and I am without words. It made me want to cry at how generous and giving you all can be. I have no words except to say how special the American people are and it makes me proud to be a part of this country and the people who make up this country. Thank you SOOOOOO much and special hugs and love to those wonderful people who provided SPC PENN his gift. He was overjoyed and in high spirits at the thoughfulness and kindness of strangers.
